A perfect blend of wilderness and simplicity: nachos, a versatile dish enjoyed year-round! Although they are often associated with summer meals due to their conviviality and simple preparation with few ingredients, they are just as suitable for other times of the year. Ideal for barbecues, picnics, and gatherings with friends, these nachos highlight moose, an iconic symbol of our region, in a simple and delicious recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 lb of ground moose (450 g)
- ½ red bell pepper
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 can of Del Monte Corn Medley Mexican style preserved (398 ml)
- 1 packet of Old El Paso taco seasoning
- 1 bag of Spicy Queso Tostitos® Chips
- 1 jar of Tostitos® Medium Salsa
- 1 jar of Tostitos® Medium Salsa con Queso
- 2 cups of Tex-Mex cheese
- 15 garlic-stuffed olives, sliced
- 3 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
Mix the meat with salt, pepper, and taco seasoning. Cook the meat with butter in a skillet, then add the onion and bell pepper. Drain the meat after cooking to avoid excess liquid that could make your nachos soggy.
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange the Tostitos® Spicy Cheese Chips side by side so you can add a small amount of meat to each chip. Top each chip with a small amount of each ingredient, starting with the meat, followed by salsa, corn, jarred cheese, olives, Tex-Mex cheese, and green onions.
Bake at 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes, until the cheese is melted. Then, top with an additional drizzle of Tostitos® jarred cheese.
